We can see them. But I don't see what creation has to do with it. And I'd say it's "right" to aim for consequences that make people happy and fulfilled, in general. Why? Um, empathy . . . that and the fact that in being moral I'm contributing to a societal system that helps to make <i>me</i> happy. And I have a sense of duty. That it almost certainly came from undirected evolution doesn't stop it from affecting me. I find it very strange that you include 'hope' in the list of words you wouldn't expect atheists to use.
